The grass is greener in Austin. During the club's second season of existence, Austin FC clinched its first playoff spot and proceeded to march all of the way to the finals of the Western Conference, following a win over I-35 rival FC Dallas. Despite a winning record at Q2 Stadium in 2023, Austin FC missed the playoffs. Now, led by midfielder and team captain Sebastián Driussi, an MLS All-Star in 2022, Austin FC will look to return to the postseason in 2024.
